Currently, the word is in the midst of a global helium shortage. The shortage has hit party retailers like Party City real hard. However, that’s not the only industry to suffer in the wake of the shortage, because helium has a wide range of uses.

Helium is used in MRI machines, particle accelerators, nuclear fusion research, and medical research. It’s used to fuel rockets and make cell phones, fiber-optic cables, and semiconductors. Welders and scuba divers need helium and last year the federal government even listed Helium as a mineral critical to U.S. economic and national security.

In this video, we’ll take a look at how we got into this global shortage, who will be affected by it, and when it’s expected we’ll get out of the shortage. Check out our latest Rogue Rocket video for more.
